I think I have TMJ?

By admin

sudden hearing loss

Ok. I was told back in like March that I have a deformed jaw bone. And my jaw has always made a sound when I opened it too wide or tried to close it too fast. I just thought it was normal. And when you put your finger on my temple and I open and close my mouth, you can feel a bump pop out and go back in. But now, I can barely open my mouth. I can only open it about 3/4 of an inch to an inch. It’s hindering my eating now. This sudden severity has only been going on for about 3 days.
Also, I know that the pain from TMJ may be felt in the ears, and I have had ear pain and a bit of hearing loss lately.
Do you think I might have TMJ/what should I do??
I do grind and clench my teeth a bunch.

It does sound like you have TMJ. I have a few suggestions for you. Avoid chewing things that put a lot of stress on your mouth, like gum. Also, try massaging your jaw to help it loosen up. Do you clench your teeth at all? That can make it tighten up. Also, advil can help with the pain. I think you should see a doctor, though.
All the best!

Appears to be TMJ .. You should not eat anything chewy, hard or something that requires you to open your mouth too big… avoid eating gum, hard candies, burgers and anything else that would put stress on your teeth
Take some pain killer for now and keep a warm pad on your face where it hurts.. that will help a lot.

I do have TMJ and I totally understand how you feel.. Take good care of yourself
